Purpose and legal basis for processing

Our purpose is to investigate and take appropriate action in line with our duties to safeguard users from abuse or nuisance from other users .

The legal basis we rely on to process your personal data is article 6(1)(d) of the GDPR, which allows us to process personal data when this is necessary to protect the vital interests of the data subject or of another natural person.

What we need?

We collect information you have given us about nuisance messages or links you have received or observed on our web site that you wish to report to us.

We ask you to confirm the nuisance message on the web site, the user it was from, or the link and contents of the link, and contact information in case we need to contact you for more information when investigating the communication.

Why we need it?

This information will help us investigate and take action against those responsible and deal with the communication or link(s).

What we do with it?

We record this information so that we have a better understanding of any abuses on our web site to protect our users better.

We will not share this information with any external agency unless it is required for law enforcement purposes.

How long we keep it?

For information about how long we hold personal data, we are currently finalising a retention schedule to make it clearer.

What are your rights?

You are giving us your personal data so that we can act in our capacity as a service provider, so you have the right to object to our processing of your personal data. There are legitimate reasons why we may refuse your objection, which depend on why we are processing it.
